Soil/Land Use Mapping
Once all three elements are created, a soils report is developed detailing the number of acres of each soil type and land use for each parcel. These programs, designed by BHA, were customized to meet the requirements of the Illinois Department of Revenue. All reports adjust the farmland to full assessment value. This automated calculation is a considerable time saver and valuable tool for the Assessor's Office. | |

Other Services BHA has supported 911 agencies with their mapping needs by providing geographically accurate street centerline data. Within the private sector, we have created mapping applications that range from store location and analysis to basic map books depicting different corporate regions. One of our most popular services is Scanning/Document Imaging. Let us make a permanent archive of your hard copy deeds, subdivision plats, maps, plans, and historic documents. We can scan large and small format documents and save them on a CD-ROM in TIF, PDF, or other formats. Bruce Harris & Associates provides complete farmland assessment solutions. This includes creation of GIS
soil coverages as polygon features with the soil types inserted in the attribute table, creation of land use
polygons, and generation of full value assessment soil reports.
BHA uses the latest U.S. Census Bureau population data to provide redistricting services to counties. Census blocks
are consolidated to build precinct boundaries and eventually board district boundaries. The most important attribute
associated with each census block is the population statistic. The sum of all blocks in a precinct or district is the
total population of each precinct or district.
BHA provides digitizing services for flood zone mapping. This involves mapping regions in which there could be flooding
based on paper FEMA maps. These FEMA maps are georeferenced to the parcel layer and digitized into a geodatabase format.
This is an invaluable resource for planning purposes as well as identifying potential areas of flooding for farmland assessment.
