Position Description

Bruce Harris & Associates, Inc., a GIS Service & Technology company, is seeking applicants for an Information
Technology Manager. Our company provides GIS consulting services to public and private sector clients. This
position will be based out of corporate headquarters in Batavia, Illinois.

Job Summary

Performs professional and administrative work in the management, operation, and coordination of implementing IT related Geographic Information System (GIS) applications/services to our clients.

Essential Job Functions

• Manages Information Technology Department.
• Schedules and presides over all IT related GIS projects.
• Establish and monitor project budgets.
• Manage and assist with GIS application development.
• Troubleshoots and remedies system problems.
• Provides technical specifications for contracts and proposals.
• Writes status reports for GIS projects for management and GIS Committee.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of:

Principles, practices and methods of Geographic Information System project management, database design and programming.

• ESRI family of products including ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server and ArcSDE.
• GIS database design, concepts, conventions and security used within a comprehensive GIS environment.
• GIS Spatial and Statistical analysis.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Managerial background
• ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 9.3 and 10
• ESRI ArcGIS Server 9.3 and 10
• GIS Programming: Strong familiarity with the ArcObjects API is required. Proficiency with VB.Net or C#, Python, and SQL is required.
• Microsoft SQL Server
• A 4 year degree or equivalent: Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Travel may be occasionally required to existing or potential client sites.

Compensation:

Compensation is salary based on experience and skills.

3. A 4 year degree or equivalent:  Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems, or related field.
4. Experience:  Minimum of 2 years experience.
